Hard-hitting research and a small business Christmas Choir to call on the country to support SMEs not just at Christmas, but year-round

Despite their economic prominence, small businesses remain the hardest hit from Covid-19. Christmas 2021 was a lifeline – one in five didn’t expect to survive 2022 without a good Christmas trading period.


Frank launched a bold and disruptive campaign in a category (insurance) not known for its use of creativity. A striking piece of work that blended creative execution with the best of data and insight, repurposed at every opportunity. The result - 276 media mentions reaching 1.9 billion people, the creation of a Small Business Christmas Choir & the re-recording of I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday, landing over 2 million views and 4.7 million impressions.


The video was Simply Business’ most successful organic post to date.

As SME owners sang their hearts out for survival, it set the stage for Simply Business to call on the country to support SMEs long-term.
