The Week Gender Reveal Lasagnes Became A Thing

KFC Gravy

KFC’s gravy candle

Blue Monday was this week – cold weather, post-Christmas blues and lack of money mean statistically it is (apparently) the saddest day of the year.

In order to cure your Blue Monday blues, the fried chicken giant KFC has answered all of our prayers and released the scented candle of dreams – a gravy candle. Because what makes people happier than the sweet, sweet aroma of KFC’s famous meaty gravy?

If you are one of 230 people lucky enough to win this limited-edition candle, note that it does contain real gravy but it is not recommended that you eat it.

To immerse yourself in the full KFChill Experience, there is also a dedicated website where you can listen to the therapeutic sounds of frying chicken, falling fries and simmering gravy.

So, relax, find your inner zen, or maybe just order a KFC?

In other Blue Monday news, Frank client Clas Ohlson wanted to spread some Monday motivation and brighten everyone’s day.

The Swedish retailer teamed up with a selection of influencers across verticals including parenting, lifestyle, food and homeware to showcase their best pick me up products to beat the blues.

This Blue Monday, #KeepCalmandClasOhlson.

Gender Reveal Lasagne

Gender Reveal Lasagne

Gender reveal parties have become all the rage in recent years and now a restaurant in America is offering a gender reveal lasagne – that’s right, a lasagne.

Villa Italian Kitchen is offering a pink and blue version of the classic Italian dish for expecting parents, the colour of which is revealed when cut into. (The secret blue or pink interior is made by food colouring added to the cheese)

The PR move has since gone viral and social media reaction has been mixed to say the least, with many ridiculing it on twitter as ‘ridiculous’ and saying gender reveals have ‘gone too far’.

The world’s first ever gender reveal lasagne will set you back $140.

Uber x Calm

Uber x Calm

Uber rides are typically a time to check on emails, scroll through social media and read the news. But why not take some time out of your hectic schedule simply to relax and take a breather?

Uber has now partnered with Calm to offer in-app mindfulness exercises so you can skip the emails and instead spend your journey deep in relaxation.

The meditation sessions are available in different lengths to suit your journey: three minutes, five minutes 30 seconds, 12 minutes 20 seconds and 30 minutes (apparently the most common Uber journey lengths, who knew?)

The idea is if we take some time out of our day to relax, we’ll feel more focused and productive, maybe even uber-productive…
